I'm not really sure what the new go gfx cards are like. Infact, I'm pretty sure that most people don't know what they are like. I'm going to go with the classics of HL and HL2. They will be awesome and will run on high I reckon.Suggestions for me?
BF 2142 is my new baby. I highly recommend it. There's a lot of frantic action and some great teamwork, especially in Titan and Assault Lines modes.
Thanks guys, just wondering for those games that I would be able to use my 360 controller as a controller for them, and if they don't recognize it would i be able to get mods for it to?
Thanks guys, just wondering for those games that I would be able to use my 360 controller as a controller for them, and if they don't recognize it would i be able to get mods for it to?
pc rpg and rts don't work well for gamepads, usually. they involve a lot of pointing and clicking (and selecting multiple units at a time). and though some disagree, fps are better played with a keyboard and mouse. your pc, though, looks good for playing any games released before 2006. give orange box and f.e.a.r. a try. company of heroes and supreme commander and world in conflict are recent rts games that have received a lot of praise; but i haven't played them, as my pc can't play them too well, but after i upgrade i'm looking to get them. also witcher is getting a lot of praise; nwn2 was released a year or so ago, but they (all the ones i recommended except orange box and f.e.a.r.) might be too much for your pc. is that a laptop you have?
FPS : The Orange Box, Crysis (it'll ravage your laptop though), CoD 4
RTS : Supreme Commander + expansion, Company of Heroes, World in Conflict (half-hearted recommendation, check out the demo)
RPG : The Witcher, The Witcher, oh did I mention? The Witcher.
I know that RPGs and RTS aren't good for controllers, I was asking for shooters because I've been console gaming for a while so it would be easier for me to playyeah just got it, you can tell by the processor right?well it doesn't matter that much to me if they will detroy my comp because i believe my brother is getting a gaming computer in the next 3 months so I'll be set if my processor sucks(GFX aren't THAT important to me)and my buddy who has WiC raves about, so I might just borrow it from him to check it outSo current list:HalfLife
HalfLife2
Battlefield 2142
F.E.A.R.
Company of Heroes
Supreme Commander + Expansion
World In Conflict
Orange Box
Call of Duty 4
The Witcher
Neverwinter Nights 2Yeah a couple of those look deadly to me atm.
make sure that coh, supreme commander, witcher, wic, and cod4 work on your laptop before buying them (and that they run well). http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtestedit: sorry, i didn't read your last part. if your bro's getting a gaming pc, might as well add crysis to that list! obivion, gears of war, and bioshock (if you don't have them for consoles) as well. nwn2 expansion is supposed to be pretty good.edit2: oh, and get the orange box instead of just hl2. better deal. unless you have it already for consoles. you'd have to get hl separately though, but it's only $10. and i don't know anything about the xbox controller.
You're going to have a great time with those games  You won't leave the house for months :P
I can confirm that Supcom will work on that laptop anyway, which implies CoH will as well. I like your list. Also Bioshock.
I concur with CoH and Orange Box! For RPG, I've head Elders of the Scrolls: Oblivion is awesome.

Don't trust srtests.com's results, they're generally wrong.
