Come on. It took them 10 years to announce a sequal to starcraft. Don't expect to be playing diablo3 anytime before 2010

Maybe they have been working on Diablo 3, but you are probably right about it taking a long time.

Things we know about Blizzard:1. They are not a one note developer sucking at the golden MMO teet (as the existence of StarCraft 2 attests).2. They are not into opening up new IPs. StarCraft, WarCraft and Diablo - and let's not forget The Los Vikings - have all been hugely successful IPs for Blizzard. And most important of all, they seem to love making games in their universes.The conclusion? Blizzard is looking like it will keep on working on non-MMO projects, and the company likes to keep to its own. [Insert your own incest joke of preference here.] Diablo 3 is a near certainty.Diablo 3 is more when than if. But you don't want to even ask when. It's a long, long way off.
Blizzard did say they are working on another MMORPG and another game. I wont be surprised if they make an announcement next year or a sneak peek at SC2's retail.
I hope they make Diablo 3. I really REALLY don't want them to change the formula on the game much. I want an overhead perspective. They can add all the snazzy 3D effects they want, just keep the top/down view!!! Anything else just wouldn't be a Diablo game....
I hope they do. Can you imagine the graphics if they did it know. Holy crap, Uber RPG + sick graphics= DOMINATION
I was actually pondering over if thislast night. Could be their next MMO franchise? I mean with the success of WOW they are definatly cooking up something, be it a huge graphical update/overhaul down the road to keep up with the times in WOW or a completely new universe like Diablo.
Who cares about Diablo 3? Give me another Warcraft. A normal Warcraft, not another MMO
Didn't Blizzard said they were working on 3 announced projects that were not on World of Warcraft? We know one was StarCraft 2...
i saw something in IGN about Diablo 3 but i wasnt bothered to read it try yahooing it im sure youll find something.
i would say yes to a diablo 3. given blizzards success in gaming they can't just stop a franchise that has been such a hit. I myself still dabble in d2 sometimes and it is extremely enjoyable. They have a full plate at this time, but give it time and the plate will be empty and blizzard will need dessert.
They'll make it. It's just a matter of when. They could announce it next year, and we could find out they have already been working on it for four years, or we might not hear a peep for a long time. I don't care though. I don't want an MMO, and I don't want some kind of Diablo/Hellgate/GuildWars mash-up. I can't see what they could do to keep the series fresh. What I'd really like to see from Blizzard (after SC2) is a brand new IP. That would be my dream of dreams.
