System Shock 2 - Videos

When I start the game the opening movie doesn't play. Same when I click intro. I can get into the game fine because I deleted a file called LGVID. AX I've read that you're supposed to register this file. Yet even when I put that back into the folder it always says the module can't be found. How do you get these videos to play in-game people? Or should I just watch them from the folder?System Shock 2 - Videos
Un-install, then reinstall.System Shock 2 - Videos
Don't forget the SHTUP and Rebirth mods...

Windows XP stopped supporting the codec the videos use with service pack 2. Download iv5play.exe (easy to find with google) and run it. It will install the codec, and the videos will work just fine. You have to do it every time you restart windows, but it only takes a few seconds. You can also just as easily watch them from the folder, as you suggest. The SS2 videos are mostly minor as far as exposition goes, and I don't think you need to watch them ingame to get the real SS2 experience or anything.
