Ok guys here's my problem. I tried playing Oblivion with my current GPU at high settings and the stuttering oustide was aweful (specially while riding my horse). Anyways, I've read that people can play Oblivon at pretty high settings with my GPU and I just dont understand how they can do this. Can someone please recommend my the optimal settings in order to play Oblivion flawelessly. I uninstalled the game like 3 months and I almost beat the crap out of my Pc because of the damn quaility. Kk please help :-).How should I configure Oblivion with my current GPU?????

Disable self shadows and shadow on grass.
Are you using any mods, specificially graphic mods?I had one, and even with my 8800GTS it caused stuttering. Turned out my PC was preloading waaaay too much grass i think, so turned the grass density (its in the .ini file, go to gametweaks for more detail) and now it runs smooth as can be!So try that, I think its your memory more than your GPU. My 6600GT ran the game fine back in the day.

Self-Shadows? I don't see that in oblivion - All options I see are Resoultion, AA, HDR and distant trees/grass.
It should be near the other shadow options.
