If your a diablo fan at the moment you still only have diablo there is no other game out that gives you the combination of the killing, comunity and accomplishment that diablo gives you. Hgl is in no way shape or form like diablo nore is it a game with staying power *at this time. Mythos wich is a action rpg with the same view point of diablo and alot of the sounds are from diablo but that's were it stops being simular to diablo it is alot more along the lines ofFate and nox both are good games and are fun but niether are the time sinks that diablo is. I am beging a developer to just KISS (keep it simple stupid) and fallow the exact formula as diablo 2 but just upgrade graphics and put in act towns and difficulty cities both of wich at the exits would have posts of games in progress you could join. The biggest draw is make sure that plp will get that feeling of being a demigod after they have put in the time and effort to find the gear. Oh and please don't try to balance the game to the highend chars like wow did doing that is why i left wow it wasn't worth the time and effort to do all the raids if i wasn't going to become a uber char.Diablo fans sad
:S but then you'd have people complaining... ''it's the same game... just with better graphics.. blah''. If you call it Diablo 2, remake (such as the FFIII for DS) fine. Innovation is key too. You dont want the same old, as much as u think u like it now. Lastly, Diablo 2 was not simple as you're saying - simpler, perhaps, but upgrades, balancing ur stats/immunity has some degree of complexity to the game.Diablo fans sad

my point is simply this everyone that plays or reviews the action rpg games always compairs it to the diablo serries then says something to the effect of why can't it be more like it. Why reinvent the wheel when it isn't broken just update it. The action rpg game isn't supposed to have a million differant things to do *crafting ..... that is for mmorpg's to handle. online multi player action rpg's are for killin and lootin with some friends and duel/pvp. there are still around 50000 plp aday on bnet playing diablo so if you make a direct ripoff of it with updated graphics and a few new things you would have every body saying it's diablo 3 ooo gota buy it. to prove my point buy just saying the spiritual successor to diablo the stinker hellgate london soldvery very well untill plp started accually playing it.
That's what the developers of Diablo did with Hellgate: London and nobody likes it.
In addition to my point, I'm actually playing (well, playing on and off) this game called Dungeon Runners. It's very similar to the style and points system of Diablo, and with better graphics. However, not a lot of people are playing it. The thing is.. this games is free to download. Special weapons and ugrade however require you to pay $5 per month. I'm not sure what makes the game a flop, but that just goes to show you that upgrading graphics isn't sufficient.

I was pretty amazed the deeper I got into the game.
