whats the cheapest laptop/computer that can play all of those fancy 3D games. like gears of war, halo, and COD4 modern warfare? (im a noob about all of the high-end pc stuff)whats the...
prolly 1500whats the...
dell xps. you'll have to spend about $2000 to play cod4 and gears of war, however. and i doubt that crysis will fly in a laptop.
it can be around 1000 or so imo. check the hardware forums for better idea

The first two posters are completely wrong, it will cost you roughly 1000 bucks if you want to get a complete prebuilt one. I got myself a pre-built hp with a Q6600 3 gigs of ram and vista for about 900 euros (in france, where everything is 10 times more expensive). All I needed to do was change the GPU from a 8500 to a 8800GT.

you know...you could just go to a local computer store and ask the people there. people like the GeekSquad are trained to know stuff like that, plus i'm sure guys that work in the smaller computer stores have been certified to learn that information. if that's not gonna work for you then you could always just look on the back of the video game box and it will tell you the minimum system requirements to play
