Is Acer laptop's good for gaming?

If so which one should i buy for gaming?Is Acer laptop's good for gaming?
computers are only as good as their parts. dell, acer, gateway, ibm, etc. only make the case and install all the parts they get from other manufacturers, so that question's tough to answer. i'd go with dell or alienware; they specialize (or have a division that specializes) in gaming laptops. for dell, go with the xps 1710 or 1730. the 1710 - you should get xp (cuz vista on a laptop is useless, at this point, at least for gaming purposes), at least a 2.0ghz core 2 duo, 2gb ram, 7200rpm hard drive (size is up to you), and a 7950gtx. or you could go with the 1730 and get a 8700 and vista. both are nice, both will cost you about $2500-3000. but they'll play almost anything, except for crysis perhaps. i have a dell laptop (nowhere near as nice), and it plays all 2005 games and earlier just fine. and no issues. solidly built.Is Acer laptop's good for gaming?

And i want to play game up to date like fieldops and and other good RTS pr FPS games man. But i should go for a XPS 1730 right?

If you want more performance for gaming, you should get a desktop instead. Consider spending around $1500-2000 on a computer if you want to make it last and able to play the games you want to play now and into the future.
To answer your question, I think asus, dell and alienware are the best for laptop gaming. I own a dell 1520 and it runs most games fine (oblivion on medium, crysis low medium, world in conflict medium, 2004 games and prior max). can't go wrong with a laptop's portibility, just don't expect to play games 3 years from now (unless u get a 17'' laptop).

For the record, my Acer lappy (low-spec one for school only, I have my desktop for gaming/multimedia stuff) died without any warning whatsoever within six months of me purchasing it. Granted, it's still under warranty (I sent it in for repairs) and this probably isn't entirely representative of their product quality, but even so, I'm never buying an Acer product again.Just thought I'd throw that out there. :)
I'll just post this before lock.Do you really need a laptop? For $1000 you could get a desktop that performs better than XPS 1730.
