Half Life and Source questions...plz help

I am a complete half life addict, and love every game in the series. I have a decent computer running half life 2 on pretty much max settings, and am going to repurchase the game by buying the orange box for pc, and i am also buying half life 1: anthology. a few questions...the only half life i have never played is decay, which was the expansion for the ps2 version of half life 1. Is it possible to find this anywhere or get it on steam?I have also never played lost coast...i understand it actually fits into the half life 2 story when gordon goes through a former fishing town, but it was scrapped shortly before release. Is this worth the download?I have limited experience on steam, and in a few months i will be getting an awesome gaming pc from a friend...will it be possible to reinstall all of these source games on that new pc when i get it or will source think i am stealing the game?THANKS a ton in advance everyone!Half Life and Source questions...plz help
If you have the source titles linked to your Steam ID (The one you use to login), then you will have no problem re-installing the games. More convieniently is that you can actually redownload them any time you want as well making the discs not so useful. Half-Life 1 is available for purchase through steam, however the expansion that you talked about is not. (I havn't seen it at least).Lost Coast is okay, and certianly interesting if you are into knowing about the technology behind the source engine, but if you aren't interested in that, I'd pass on it.Half Life and Source questions...plz help
Thanks alot man. I think the expansion was called Half Life: decay, or something like that. I have heard about it many times but maybe i was wrong, maybe it was just a mod or something?
last noob question: when exactly during half life 2 does lost coast take place, or is it just a meaningless tech display?
From what I understand it was always a technology demo.
last noob question: when exactly during half life 2 does lost coast take place, or is it just a meaningless tech display?
It was supposed to be involved in the main story along Highway 17, but they cut it from the main game and decided to turn it into a tech demo.
Lost Coast is included with The Orange Box. So you don't need to worry about paying some fee for downloading it, if you're going to get The Orange Box.

However, Opposing Force and Blue Shift are the HL1 expansion packs that are more important to what's been revealed in Half Life 2 and its expansions thus far.
Wasn't it included with Half-Life 2 and everything? In fact.. don't they give it out with any source-engine game purchase?
They just give it away with Half-Life 2 and any of the episodes, I think. But yeah.. it was originally to be part of Highway 17, but they took it out.
ok just a few more dumb questions...if theyre already answered, sorry-transferring next semester, getting a new computer, and i just bought half life anthology on steam...i will be able to install steam, sign in the account, and download those games because i already payed for them right?-is there a mod where i can somehow get decay?BY THE WAY - i am extremely impressed with steam, as i have never used it before (my bro bought half life 2 way back in the day and thats the only time we've used it), it even let me put my non steam games on the list so theyre all in the same spot!

can you get mods through steam? is decay on steam?
can you get mods through steam? is decay on steam?
no, only garry's mod is on steam, and it'll set you back $10. i googled decay and found the official website. it looks like the mod's not quite finished. http://decay.half-lifecreations.com/
First off, orange box is a great value the TF2 aloneis worth the price. If you already have HL2, you can give away HL2 from orange box to a friend or as I did to someone on here.
ok its not a big deal but does half life anthology on steam come with the HD PACK that originally came with blue shift?
