Gears of war crashing my video card/computer

I know alot of ppl have that problem where the game crashes and you have to ignore the error and alt tab back in to continue playing. That happens sometimes to me but after a while i will crash again and the green light on my monitor will turn to orange which means my video card crashed. The only way to fix this is to restart, what does this mean and what do i do?I have amd 64 3800+ single core1gig ddr400256 7600gti play on lowest settings except for shadows on high and post processing on high and 1024X768. looks about the same as xbox quality at 40-50fps indoors 25-30fps during large outdoor fights Gears of war crashing my video card/computer

it runs fine for me
i have 163.75 drivers and they say to have 163.71 ??
Games for Windows Live is causing the crashing. I was able to turn it off and played an 8 hour session today. The only really bad thing about is I cant save my game or settings. I need games of windows live to be working for me to save my game.

It never crashed once. Turn off your startup programs and see what happens. Maybe your computer has some problems.

There was a notice on its support page, and this is a portion of it.''Due to an ongoing issue, Games for Windows users will be unable to create...''They are most likely referring to the crashing alot of people are experiencing.
my 5.1ss works for me =p
I'm having this problem 2 with Gears of war.''green light on my monitor will turn to orange which means my video card crashed. The only way to fix this is to restart''and the fan of the video card goes crazy with very high rpm's. I did the latest update of windows live but its the same.I'm playing all the other games just fine (crysis demo, tdu, bf2142, pes8, quake wars, world in conflict, etc.)Microsoft isn't doing his homework, i guess. My rigP4 3,2Ghz, ATI 1950Pro 512Mg (drv 7.10 latest), 2G Ram and plenty disk spaceWindows Xp with Sp2 with all updates from microsoft:cry: HELP PLEASE
My GeoW wouldnt run more than few seconds without crashing until I turned off windowsblinds which is a theme modifier. So if you have any software which enhances windows visually I suggest turning them off.
windowsblinds orany other software which enhances windows visually is not my problem. I think this as to do with graphic card, wich can only be solvedwith a patch. thanks anyway. The game sometimes start but it crashes when i get in action. Does anyone has the same problem?

hey guys gears of war crashing when try load checkpoint or save otherwise fine any help would be good thanks
Listen guys, most of you obviously have no clue what you're talking about. Just want to say sorry in advance for invalidating your intuitions, but here are the logical steps to take in the case of issues with video games crashing and such.1.Program Clashes. turn off ALL background programs, especially with re-packaged games for pc. There are ALWAYS bugs in new software, especially if you run Vista.2.Software. check you're drivers, even more so if you run ATI hardware. ATI has been notorious in the past and present for crappy driver software and compatability issues.3.Environment. There is the factor of heat, and if you use a big card, odds are its going to make some. Check you're environ temp and your case temp, and see what you can do to make you're system cooler. All it takes is the extra push these graphics can make and BOOM you have an overheated system.4.Know you're rig! If you know you're running an outdated rig, and are really pushing it, use you're brain that's gotten you this far in life, and realize that GOW is a NEXT-GEN game, using the premiere graphics engine for the next 1-2 years. Do the math, check the facts and upgrade if needed. Otherwise, don't complain wen you know its you're fault.
